SAE Projects: Products

What is an SAE?

What is a SAE?

SAE’s are Supervised Agricultural Experience Programs. They are projects that allow student to learn new things which can provide valuable insight on jobs for their future. There are four types of SAE’s that you can do: Entrepreneurship, Placement, Agriscience Research and Experimentation, and Exploratory.

SAE Types:

Entrepreneurship/ Ownership:

This SAE is about the being a business owner and/ or taking risks that would occur in the real world. In this SAE, you can own your equipment and business. This can show you the financial risks you can face in the society we live in today. It also can teach you valuable skills like managing your company or the hard work put into them.

Placement/ Internship:

This SAE is about working for a business owner. It can be a paid or unpaid, on a farm or in a shop. Placement SAE’s are meant to get you out into the workforce and to see what it is like. It also is meant for you to develop skills in different work fields.

Agriscience Research and Experimentation:

This SAE is based around science and research. In this you will conduct some sort of scientific experiment in agriculture. During this you will have to use your scientific knowledge to answer a specific answer.

Exploratory:

In this SAE, you will learn and become aware with agriculture. This SAE is meant to ease new members into FFA and raise interest in the agricultural field. This SAE can also be used as a guide for the member’s future SAEs

What does a SAE look like?

An SAE can vary in many shapes in sizes for example some FFA members will use their job as an SAE. Some members however will choose to do things such as a science experiment. However, the limits still don’t stop there! Your SAE has infinite options allowing you to do anything you can imagine.
